KARD Returns to Chicago for Their 2025 Drift Tour
Four member co-ed K-Pop group KARD makes their long awaited return to Chicago on December 12th, 2025 through their tour, KARD 2025 US Tour [Drift] presented by N2O4 Entertainment.
The cold winter weather outside meant nothing once the concert got started. KARD's members BM, Jiwoo, J.Seph and Somin instantly heated up the Copernicus Center with multiple of their hits such as "Icky," "Oh Nana," "Hola Hola" and their title track off of the newest album Drift, "Touch."
"Chi-Town, I love the vibe here" BM comments after seeing fans (Hidden KARD) match the energy of each song and feeling the music. The rapper then admitted that he slept up until a few minutes prior to getting on the stage but became fully awake because of the energy given by the crowd. "Chi-Town got me up!"
BM gave it his all performing two of his solo songs "Freak" and "Ooh." His dancing and gestures, especially during the dance break, got everyone in the audience screaming. After both songs, the rapper admits "I got a little extra nasty here then I did back in LA." He explains that he held back during KARD's first stop because of his mom being in attendance that night. "But today I don't care!"
The quartet temporarily splits into two duos for the unit songs. J.Seph joins BM for their song "Been That Boy." Both fed off of each other's energy and stage presence to create a fun flowing vibe and of course BM couldn't resist throwing water into crowd during the final beat drop. Somin and Jiwoo take over the spotlight for their unit song "Enemy." Nobody could take their eyes off of the powerful and seamless choreography during the entire song that got amplified by the women's vocals.
A section of the show was set aside for a short Q&A with questions sent in ahead of time by Hidden KARDs. One of the two questions asked the group if they were an animal, which would they be and why.
According to J.Seph, BM is a polar bear, specifically the Coca-Cola bear because of his sunglasses. Somin got compared to the bunny character, Judy Hopps, from the movie Zootopia then does her best bunny impersonation. For Jiwoo, a handful of Hidden KARDs in the crowd yelled that her animal is a quokka. None of the members knew what those looked like so a fan pulled up a picture to show them. "It could be your cousin!" BM comments to Jiwoo. For J.Seph, he was instantly deemed a panther by fans. While he seemed surprised at first, J.Seph became excited then when asked (by BM) showed off his 'sexiest panther walk.'
Before the next song could start, all four went backstage, claiming tour staff said that there were technical difficulties (ironically there were actually real audio problems during the show that were resolved fairly quickly) but it turned out to be a hoax as they also instantly returned wearing Christmas hats and cloaks. While covering Mariah Carey's song "All I Want for Christmas," the members threw small gifts into the crowd. Jiwoo dramatically pitched one like she was a professional baseball player.
A slight delay took place when the audio for "Pivot" kept starting in the middle of the song instead of the beginning. After a few retries, the concert continued strong. The suggestive lyrics paired with similar dance moves, the floor heavy chorography for both "Pivot" and "Spin" had the crowd going wild. However, it paled in comparison to the following tracks. "Gunshot" and "Bomb Bomb" were two of the songs from the whole night's setlist that got singing and chanting along to at the top of their lungs the entire time. KARD definitely noticed the spike in energy and returned it in full force through every aspect of their performance.
Each member took a turn to share their thoughts about Chicago's concert, the tour as a whole and whatever else came to mind.
"You guys probably looked around and saw ticket sales were not like how it was a couple years back." BM admits while making a motion towards the rear of the venue where there were empty seats. He follows up by voicing his appreciation to the fans for the support and showing up to their concert despite the rough economy getting in the way.
Somin touches on the difficulties the group faced on trying to organize a tour in North America just for it to be canceled multiple times. She shares that even when things were hard, the support fans sent her through messages online gave the singer strength to keep going. "However, being in person and seeing the love we feel from you all, it's unmatched" Somin happily says. "We'll pay forward all the love you've shown us slowly but surely with great performances and music moving forward!"
Jiwoo expressed her gratitude towards Hidden KARDs for their continuous support and not forgetting them over time. "Thank you so much for gifting us this precious time that we get to spend with you." She adds that she will put even more effort into her music and that she hopes fans enjoy the rest of the show and gets home safely afterwards,
"Thank you for not forgetting us" J.Seph begins. "Just because its been so long since we've seen you, it's been so much of a pleasure to see all of you again today." He ends his speech with laughs from the audience as he comments on how he likes the musical Chicago and when the windy city comes up in conversations back in South Korea, he brags to his friends that he's been to the city before. "It's really a city of dreams for me."
When the time arises for KARD to take a picture with the crowd, fans gifts them the Chicago flag covered in messages from those in attendance. BM quickly outs Jiwoo for asking him what the flag gifted to them represented. "Jiwoo was asking. I knew what it was." he says with a laugh and silly face.
The calm energy didn't last much longer as the next song "Cake" started to play. In a millisecond retuned to being eternally hyped up. Both "Cake and the following hit, "Dumb Litty," got everyone dancing and singling along like there was no tomorrow. The latter of the two left an extra mark as multiple members of KARD grabbed water bottles and threw its contents into the audience each time the chorus started.
In place of a dark venue for the audience to wait for an encore, KARD prepared individual video messages for Hidden KARDs filled with emotion that earned a few tears from some in the crowd.
Once the video ended, the word 'ENCORE' appeared on the screen for a short moment as the idols returned for three more songs. Throughout "Don't Recall," "You in Me" and a second performance of "Icky" the chorography was kept to a minimum. Instead the time got used for the group to interact with their fans. Multiple cellphones we handed to members of KARD in order to take selfies with the phone's owners then retuned. During "Icky," Jiwoo got her hands on someone's light stick and happily waved it around to the music's rhythm. "Icky" marked the start and end of Chicago's concert for being both the first and last song on the show's setlist.
As the show inevitably comes to an end, BM, J.Seph, Jiwoo and Somin hold hands and bow to the crowd in thanks. All of them take their time going from one side of the stage to the other in order to say goodbye to fans. Before walking of the stage, BM reminded those who are over the age of 21 that the concert was only the beginning of the partying. After each city's performance, N2O4 Entertainment organized an extra event at a local club that the members of KARD also attend to spend more time with Hidden KARDs.
KARD has two more stops left of their tour on December 18th and 20th in Atlanta and Dallas.
