Coronavirus Outbreak Forces CIX to Cancel Their U.S. Tour

The spread of the coronavirus is raising concerns worldwide on public events causing some to withdraw.

Rookie Korean pop group CIX planned to meet fans (FIX) in New York, Denver, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles during their CIX 1st Fan Meeting HELLO, FIX tour. The fan meet tour set to start Mar. 6 suddenly came to a screeching halt.

On Feb. 26, the tour coordinator, SubKulture Entertainment released a statement on their social media announcing that all six stops have been postponed indefinitely. Instead of putting the musician's, fan's and staff's health at risk, the best option is cancelling everything.

They give their sincere apologies to everyone involved, especially those who waited patiently to see CIX or have already paid for flights and hotels. All purchased tickets will be fulled refunded according to SubKulture Entertainment.

Fans respond to the news feeling sad that they cannot meet their idols but are glad to see the group's health is being prioritized. The biggest request among all the comments is for CIX to reschedule the fan meets once the virus is gone.

Different K-Pop groups have cancelled events in Asia and Europe in recent weeks for health and safety reasons, but this is the first in The United States. The only precaution taken happened earlier this month when the group Stray Kids required fans to go through a thermal scanner prior to the meet and greet.

The question now is whether other tours will do the same as CIX and cancel all events, find a way around the situation like Stray Kids did, or stick to the original script.
