Oneus Gives a Performance to Remember in Pontiac

Oneus makes their long awaited return to The United States of America through their 2022 Blood Moon Tour.

On February 16, 2022, the six member K-Pop boy group put on quite the show at The Crofoot located in Pontiac, Michigan through MyMusicTaste. It wasn't just a regular concert, it was a work of art. Oneus is widely known for their intense and well thought out chorography and performances and their Blood Moon Tour would not be any different.

The stage turns blood red as Oneus makes their way onto the stage. Their fans (To Moons) go wild as each member appears and their excitement increases once the song "Comeback Home" begins. Paired with the rock version of their debut title track, "Valkyrie," the cold Michigan weather long forgotten as everyone in the audience were already jumping up and down to the beat.

Ravn, Seoho, Leedo, Keonhee, Hwanwoong, and Xion officially greeted the audience as a whole group and individually before getting back into the music. "Black Mirror" and the English version of "Shut Up 받고 Crazy Hot!" kept the fun and upbeat party going. Fans couldn't help but sing along to the older song, "Twilight," and those who had light sticks made the crowd look like the twinkling stars that appear in between twilights.

After a short video intermission, Oneus returned to the stage in new outfits with a medley consisting of short versions of "Plastic Flower," "English Girl" and Airplane." Each song has its own unique chorography ranging from simple cute moves to using their bodies to turn themselves into an airplane. "A Song Written Easily" begins with a short instrumental where both Ravn and Leedo each have a dance solo before the others join for the rest of the song. During "Youth," everything changes as all six members wander around on stage to interact with To Moons.

Dance covers of Post Malone's "Motley Crew" and Michele Morrone's "Watch Me Burn" kick up the concert's intensity by a few notches. Both dances involved moves that had fans screaming in delight. After quickly catching their breaths they continue performing with their own songs "To Be or Not to Be" and "No Diggity."

All the members return to the stage after another video intermission wearing dark green traditional Korean clothing (hanbok) and fans (buchae) with a flower pattern on them while their backup dancers wore white hanboks. Starting with "Intro: Window" Oneus gives To Moons a taste of Korean culture both visually and audibly. During their song, "Luna," the buchae are used by both the group and backup dancers and a stratifying 'snap' resonates throughout The Crofoot each time. Both performances involved heavy floor choreography and didn't waste a centimeter of the stage which left everyone watching in awe.

To Moons coordinated a project in secret to surprise Oneus. Mini versions of the groups fans were spotted throughout the crowd and the group commented how much they loved seeing them. They were impressed that the audience knew the Korean names for both traditional items and expressed how happy it made them to hear Korean culture outside of music is spreading around the globe.

Some members tried pretending that "Lit" would be their final performance of the night, but could not fool their fans. Their failed joke turned into another as the remaining members called the other ones liars in a playful manner before going into the song. The choreography for "Lit" had Oneus and their dancer use each other to create beautiful scenes ranging from carrying one another to jumping off their backs to fly across the stage.

Not even a minute after Oneus heads backstage To Moons began chanting for the group to return. One last video plays on the big screen quiets fans for only a moment as the prerecording asks the audience to chant for an encore, which gets everyone to automatically start again.

The sextet return to the stage one last time, each member clad in their tour shirts and hoodies. Everyone's spirts rise up more with the English version of "Life is Beautiful" through its lyrics and happy sound which made the atmosphere feel light and sweet as cotton candy. Immediately following is their song "I.P.U." that had fans swaying back and forth while holding out their pinkies and Oneus returns the gesture.

As the end approached, it became time for each idol to say their final thoughts starting with Xion and going down the line finishing with Leedo. Hwanwoong excitedly shared that they were told the amount of people in attendance for their concert surpassed the number of any previous shows for the venue. "Despite age, race or gender, everyone is here" he added.

To capture the image of the night for everyone to remember forever, Oneus wanted to have their picture taken with the crowd. Keonhee noticed that the To Moons who were watching the show from above the stage were going to be left out of the picture because of where they were standing. He asked if all of them could temporarily towards the back of the venue so everyone could be included.

The official final song of the night, "Bbusyeo" got the whole audience to let loose if they weren't already. Any chance someone from Oneus could get closer to their To Moons or do something silly to another member, they'd take it without hesitation.

Before leaving Pontiac To Moons for the last time after their final bow, all six members stay a little longer to interact with the crowd. Seoho borrows a camera from one of the staff filming the show to capture moments with his bandmates and fans from the stage until it was time to say goodbye.

Oneus gave a performance that far excided many people's expectations. Every inch of the stage was used to its maximum potential and they left nothing to be desired.
