Jay Park Heats Up Chicago During His Sexy 4eva Tour
Korean-American musician Jay Park returns to Chicago after three years during his Sexy 4Eva World Tour.
A wide variety of fans (JWalkers) lined up outside of the Riviera Theater endured the freezing cold wind that Lake Michigan created for hours to get a good view during the concert. Both the main floor and balcony became packed as over a thousand people entered the venue.
As soon as the lights go down, the audience began chanting for the concert to start. Their yells are answered as the DJ walks onto the stage. He gets fans hyped up by remixing some of Jay Park's songs.
Balming Tiger's singer Sogumm appears wearing a long black skirt and a long sleeved Chicago Bulls shirt. Her adorable smile matched her energy throughout her entire performance which included her songs, "I Wonder" and "Baby."
Once she's finished singing, Sogumm thanks the fans for the opportunity before walking off the stage. Multiple people in the crowd can't help but talk about how cute she was.
The DJ shortly goes back in control before two female dancers take their place on the stage. Smoke surrounds the dancers and makes them disappear. Suddenly, the large center screen splits into two and revivals Jay Park standing behind it.
He opens the main part of the concert with his songs, "Forget About Tomorrow," "On Fire" and "Me Like Yuh." Two males dancers tag team with the females throughout all three songs. The audience groves along and scream at the top of their lungs once the third song ends.
Jay takes a break from performing to welcome Chicago to his concert. He tells fans that he appreciates everyone coming out despite it being a cold Sunday with work and school following the next day. "We're gonna end the weekend right" the artist promised.
The last time Jay Park visited Chicago was back in 2016. While thanking those who supported him for such a long time, he paused to joke about how it felt like he's giving an award speech. After pretending that his mic was a trophy "But that's what feels like that. It feels very good so I just wanna show my appreciation to y'all."
With the crowd yelling his popular phrase, 'I need a chacha beat boy' Jay goes straight into the songs "Aquaman" and "Solo." JWalkers harmonize during both songs to make the venue full of beautiful voices having a good time.
"Chicago you still with me?" Jay asks and the audience responds with excited cheers. He adds on by admitting that the black with red flower suit jacket was bought specifically for the Chicago show. "I saw it I was like 'Oh I need to wear this in Chicago.'"
While Jay talked about his next song fans started throwing gifts onto the stage. Some items didn't reach the platform so he decided to make a joke saying, "If you don't have a good enough arm to make the stage, don't even throw it. If you throw it, you gotta throw it!" The crowd listened and followed instructions as more gifts came flying harder.
Everyone got a laugh as something unique to give at a concert landed on the stage. A Bible. "Someone threw a Bible! This is what we need" Jay says as he picks it up off the ground. "Don't be throwing no Bible too. Make sure you hand it!"
With another chacha beat the songs continue with "Joah," "Drive" and "My Last." Fans danced and sang along but "Drive" was the favorite hands down. Multiple times throughout the song Jay would stop signing and point the mic towards the crowd who didn't miss a beat and continued for him.
"Yo somebody almost hit me in the face with something. Who was that?" He asks immediately finishing the song. To show what happened Jay started singing again and pretended to duck backwards "I almost pulled a Matrix right there."
The energy the crowd created during the slower songs pleased Jay but it made him worry about later in the concert. "In an hour when we perform the more hype songs, make sure you have the same energy okay" he asks. "I don't want you spending all your energy. Right now it's calm time. Let's listen and enjoy."
Leading into the next song "V" Jay starts chanting 'aye aye' repeatedly until JWalkers take over into the song. The audience uses their hands to make a peace sign representing the letter every time it came up in the lyrics. The song brought an uplifting vibe to the venue that didn't seems to be leaving anytime soon.
Once again the favorite saying came before the start of "All I Wanna Do" and fans had no problem yelling it at the top of their lungs. Everyone got fully absorbed into the song singing the English lyrics without a care. Jay catches the crowd off guard for a moment by switching to the Korean version midway. However, it doesn't take long for them to return to singing, this time in a different language.
"Chicago I know it's cold but let me take you to the ocean real quick" the soloist leads into his song "Yacht." So many fans sang along perfectly to the point where they were louder than the speakers. The only time they stopped singing was when Jay did specific dance moves. After the song ends he adds, "Been to the ocean and back. Hawaii and back to Chicago."
Using their phone's flashlights, the audience illuminates the room during "Dank." At the end of the song Jay trades places with the two males dancers and the lights change everything to red. The duo performs a dance together to the song "Replay" and in the middle of it Jay returns and joins them until it ends.
Next up is his song "2nd Thots" and the female dancers come back one at a time. Key lyrics get sung full of emotions by the fans. "You guys said it with conviction I like that" Jay comments at the end of the song. "At that moment, I felt like a fake ass hoe. I like it."
It was time to slow things down with "The Truth Is." A mic stand got brought out so there was no dancing but Jay's vocals took the spotlight. Things change a bit halfway through as the dancers come back out with their own mic stands for a short dance break before leaving.
The second guest joining Jay for part of the tour is Ted Park. Fans gave him a warm welcome to the windy city. His songs "Me Love," "Jjajang Mami" and "Ugly" got the audience moving and losing themselves to the music.
Ted thanked everyone for attending his last concert in the United States for the tour. Before going into his last song, Ted gave a shout out to fellow rapper and 'sister' Jessi who wasn't there. He ended his solo stage by performing the song "Drippin" which Jessi featured in.
As Ted leaves the stage, Jay comes back the same way he did at the start of the concert from behind the screens. He changed his outfit and sported a Chicago Bulls basketball jersey with Zach LaVine's number on it and instantly goes into his song "WorldWide." Quickly following were the songs "20/20" and "FSU" which Jay flaunted his shirt during both of them.
Jay asks the crowd if they liked hip-hop and everyone yelled various forms of yes. After getting approval from fans he begins rapping his song "Finish Line" with the DJ backing him up. Next up was "On It" and all the lights turned red which fit the beat and feel of the song.

Jay yells as the beat builds. The screams get louder and louder and as the beat drops large gold streamers shoot out of cannons into the crowd. The pressure made half of the streamers reach the balcony.
The most anticipated song of the night, "Mommae" finally arrived. The excitement from the song doubled as Jay discarded his Chicago Bulls jersey. Not a single person in the Riviera Theater stayed still at any point during the song. If there's a time during the concert to let everything go to dance and sing without a care, "Mommae" was the perfect moment. "It's cold outside but it's hot in here" the rapper comments.
Jay takes a moment to thank the audience for spending the night with him. "I know you have work and school tomorrow. On this cold night waiting in line for me I appreciate for real though" he says. "Aye Chi-Town, you guys are all sexy forever."

Before Ted comes out, Jay has fans chant 'I do this for real I don't stutter' that are lyrics in the song. It takes a couple of tries for the audience to get the hang of the fast paced sentence but they eventually get it down.
